Today we will introduce you to Pedro Andrade Nunes – Lawyer and Painter. Pedro is going to exhibit his paintings at the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Lisbon. The short interview went like this:
Age:
35
Occupation:
Lawyer and Angel Investor
City/Neighborhood:
Lisbon / London
What drives you to make art?
I don’t believe there is any driving force in the creative process. It’s the absence of “road” and “driver” that makes art appealing. I paint because it’s a natural and effortless action; it is within my natural condition of being me.
How do you make decisions within your practice or within a painting more specifically ?
I am very irrational on the decisions I make along the process. I always act more by instinct and characters are just ready to go from my head to the canvas. Painting them comes out being like seeing old friends that always been there, inside myself.
What is the average price of a painting? what are your prices ranges?
1000 – 1500. Although I confess pricing is a very hard part of the painting process. I believe it’s very hard to give some monetary stamp to a subjective creation.
What is your website name?
www.pedroandradenunes.com
Who’s your favorite living artist? And dead artist?
Living artist would be Paula Rego. Dead artist would be Picasso. Again, unfair question. It’s very hard to choose when you admire a bunch of them.
What’s the last show that surprised you? Why?
The Emerging Artists Exhibition in NY. I was surprise by how much they copy themselves.
What’s your favorite place to see art?
NY and London
Next project? What’s about?
Berlin in the summer. Shortly I will share the details.
What’s the coolest thing you have ever done?
If I told you would not be cool anymore.
What can we expect from watching your exhibition?
Some awkward characters struggling for life.
Do not miss out Pedro Andrade Nunes Painting Exhibition. Share. Opening next Friday, the 20th of May at 19h30. With the artist’s presence, of course!
