What does Altamont means?
Altamont is a music website that exists since 2006. It’s also the name of a Festival (Altamont Festival) that happened in 1969, and symbolizes the death of hippie spirit, right after Woodstock. We are connected to an epic Rock event.

Style:
Mostly Classic Rock and Alternative Rock. Also Soul and Funk.

Best known for:
Discovering Music. We at Altamont like to discover new music, and old music that we don’t know yet, good music that we want to share with everyone.

When did you start playing music?How did you get into it?
2008. Bairro Alto in “Bar do Bairro”. I started to speak with the DJ, and he presented me to the owner. I arranged a meeting to show my style, and started to play there once a month. Now we play music at “Sabotage” (Altamont Rock Ball) and also in “Quiosque do Melhor Bolo de Chocolate do Mundo” (relaxed sound at the end of the day, from May to September).

What’s the most important skill a DJ should have?
Understand the audience and let the audience lead you.

What do you do when you are uninspired to scratch?
When I’m not inspired I don’t play music. I also run a hostel in Sintra (MoonHill) during daytime!

What cause is closest to your heart?
Musical Education for everyone, since kindergarten.

Which club would you like to bring back from the dead?
A small venue in Bairro Alto named “Rookie”, with low cost beer that played rock from 9pm till 4am. Also “Rockline”!

Which artist would you like to bring back from the dead?
Easy: Jimi Hendrix. He was the best.

What can we expect from your next performance at o Bom o Mau e o Vilão?
We will start nice and easy, so people can relax and have a conversation, and then, as the night continues, we will give it more energy and rhythm to dance and party!
